Hey everyone! So sorry about the wait on this blog update! You all are probably thinking, Molly what the heck is your title? Well everyone great question! It means Thank You in Burmese.
I haven’t had a lot of alone time here in Asia because of the amazing people always trying to feed me, my friends here always trying to get out of our houses and go to the city Bago to adventure out and see what the world has to offer. I was getting off the phone with my amazing boyfriend Zakery as he said something so meaningful which makes me tear up every time I think about it, so I’m going to share it to you.
Zakery told me as I was crying to him on the phone, “
Molly, do not give up and most importantly do not loose hope in the things that will carry you on throughout the future.” I sat there in awe, thinking to myself “wow....” while I imaged a light bulb explode above my head. (This all ties into something keep reading!!)
Yes I had negative thoughts once I sat my butt on the Emirates flight to Dubai. I had hit culture shock. So many people wearing different clothes, spoke different language and looked COMPLETELY different than what I am used to seeing on my way to a coffee shop or even just walking down the street in Arizona. Since at a young age, I always tried to find the difference in people because 1- it was always so cool hearing about how people lived on the opposite side of the world God had created for us & 2- it always got me uncomfortable in a good way. You may be asking why uncomfortable? Well it’s because I honestly didn’t see anything other than Americans my whole life. Yes I was acclimated with different cultures in America but not actually seeing different cultures in a different country. Its still honestly terrifying to put myself out here in Asia with a new perspective on life but it has definately changed my views on the way I have lived for 23 years in America.
Thank you, everyone. For pushing me out of my comfort zone and waving goodbye to me as I move my life for 2 years in a whole new world with a whole new perspective on life. Thank you everyone for always putting their heart to my decisions and supporting the things that I will be doing here in Myanma, Asia. Thank you everyone for answering my calls and texts- reminding me that these two beautiful years in Myanmar will have a outstanding change to my life as it will to you once I share my experience to ALL of you in my future blog posts. Literally, thank you. All of your support has not been hidden- it has shown throughout my actions and the way I see the world. I will not give up & I will not loose what Is important to me. I love you all. I’ll be posting another blog up this week (I promise!!!) to tell all of you WHAT the heck I have experienced since living here in Myanmar the past week.
